Lana Del Rey - Video Games
This was not my intended song to use today but sometimes songs just get stuck in your head. The past few days I’ve had this song in my head all the time. Lana Del Rey (aka Lizzy Grant) has an amazing and hauntingly beautiful voice. It reminds me of some Cat Power. This song came out a few weeks ago but it is blowing up now. I originally heard it via Gorilla vs Bear but now it’s getting press all over the place. Pitchfork raved about it a few weeks ago (not that I go by what Pitchfork says) and the Huffington Post mentioned it yesterday.
It’s not the happiest song to have stuck in your head, but it’s not bad either…in fact…there are many worse songs to have in your head. Like this one.
Edit Vimeo yanked the original video…so I’ve added the MySpace version. I’m not sure how long that will stay up.
