MC 900 Ft Jesus - The City Sleeps
It’s been 20 years since Welcome to my Dream by MC 900 Foot Jesus was released. Muscially…That’s a long time ago.
Late last night (and I mean real late) I started thinking of the lyrics to The City Sleeps. I’d say I was singing them, but I won’t admit to that shit…since my voice is awful. Mark Griffin only released three albums as MC 900 Ft. Jesus and then dropped off the face of the earth. Good for him. If he was still around making music it would, most likely, be awful. But this song, at least for me, stands the test of time. It’s a hip-hop song from the early 90s that tells a story very well and you can easily picture it as he sings about a creepy serial arsonist.
