My New Torture Device
Well, here is my new friend that I will be sleeping with for at least the next six months. This thing will hopefully allow me to get some flexibility back in my ankle/foot. The goal is to be able to run again. I really want to run again…and soon. Some people say I should be happy that I can ride again after the accident. Don’t get me wrong. I am happy; it’s just that I have other goals in my life and they don’t always involve the bike. (I swear I just heard someone gasp)
One of my goals was to run a three hour marathon. I figured with limited training I was able to run a sub 90 minute half, therefore, a three hour marathon should be doable. Of course, that all changed. But…here’s the thing with me (in general). I don’t give up. On anything. So Ted’s ankle V2.0 will hopefully be upgraded to Ted’s ankle V2.1 in a few months and I’ll be able to run again. It’s not going to be pleasant to sleep with that thing every night and have it stretch the shit out of my ankle…but I’m okay with that.
Oh…yeah…when I do come back to run that marathon it will be a sub-three hour marathon and I will qualify for Boston on my first attempt. Notice, I said “when”…not “if”.
I will not give up…
